That’s corn? – discover some of the kitchen staples made from corn, you might be surprised!

Did you know?

The Botanic Gardens of South Australia and the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural (RA&HS) Society have connected the community with plants and agriculture for 175 years.

Between 1844 and 1859 the Show was held adjacent to where Adelaide Botanic Garden stands today. For those who know the garden well it was right outside the Gingko Gate.

While the Botanic Gardens were included on Colonel William Light’s 1837 Plan of Adelaide some may be surprised to know the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society was instrumental in the formation of Adelaide Botanic Garden on its current site.

In 1854 their proposal for a botanic garden where Adelaide Botanic Garden is located currently was endorsed by the Government…and the rest is history!

The Botanic Gardens stall celebrates this shared history and the common values of the two organisations on what is an exciting 175th anniversary year for the RA&HS.

See you at the Show!
