Nurseries and Garden Centres
Many local nurseries and garden centres can be a great help in providing advice and referral to other gardening services. Try Nurseries Online, a directory of the Nursery and Garden Industry Australia.
Government Departments and Local Councils
Although public organisations are not available for verbal garden advice, many produce information material that is relevant and helpful for gardeners.
Local Councils and libraries are an excellent resource for books, magazines, leaflets and internet access.
Open Gardens SA
Open Gardens SA is a not-for-profit organisation first established in 2015 after the disbandment of the famous national open garden scheme. Open Gardens SA opens private gardens to the public and, in doing so, it educates and promotes the enjoyment, knowledge and benefits of gardens and gardening in South Australia, builds strong public support for the development of gardens.
Some gardening books are available for purchase at the Gardens' reception in the Goodman Building, Hackney Road. The Diggers Shop, located in Adelaide Botanic Garden, stocks a range of books on gardening and horticulture.
Garden Clubs and Societies
