National Rose Trial Garden - People's Choice Weekend

National Rose Trial Garden - People's Choice Weekend

Date posted: 13 March 2015

You are invited to attend the People's Choice Weekend on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April, and choose your favourite roses from the new varieties that are currently being trialled!

The National Rose Trial Garden (located in the International Rose Garden) grows only new varieties of roses, which are not available for sale in Australia yet. These roses aren’t growing anywhere else in the country, only in our Rose Garden! Some are from France and Germany!

The trial garden is used to assess if the roses are suitable for growing in our climate, soil, etc, and helps develop and promote Australian rose breeding, and gain feedback from the general public. If the roses are successful, they may be put forward for commercial sale.

Come and enjoy a picnic in the Garden, and the beautiful surrounds of the Rose Garden.

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April 2015

The Friends of the Botanic Gardens will also hold guided walks of the International Rose Garden at 2pm each day.
