It’s time to get hands on in Mount Lofty Botanic Garden at the Garden Blitz.
On Saturday, 15 November volunteers of all ages and gardening abilities are invited to join the team for a morning of woody weed removal in Mount Lofty Botanic Garden.
Director of the Botanic Gardens of South Australia, Stephen Forbes says the volunteer event always has a big impact.
“Every Garden Blitz produces amazing results, we couldn’t achieve so much in just one morning without the hard work and dedication of the volunteers that attend,” Mr Forbes said.
“This will be the seventh Garden Blitz we’ve held, it’s always great to see our regular volunteers and new faces joining the team.”
The upcoming Garden Blitz will be the last for 2014 and focus on the removal of woody weeds.
Volunteers are asked to wear protective clothing including long pants, closed shoes and gloves. All tools will be provided on the day.
“The morning will be broken up into two sessions before volunteers join the Mount Lofty team for a barbeque in the garden to celebrate their hard work,” Mr Forbes said.
