2019 Summer Appeal: Teaching Glasshouse

The Teaching Glasshouse is central to the masterplan for the extension of Adelaide’s Kitchen Garden, which was developed in 2017 specifically to engage and educate our younger generation in gardening and the wonder of where food comes from.

The extension to the Kitchen Garden is a grand plan, which not only includes the Teaching Glasshouse, but also extends to creating a community garden, landscaped meeting places, rare fruit tree orchard and a new overarching Health and Wellbeing programme.

Sitting at the centre of this exciting extension, the glasshouse links an egalitarian approach to education and community engagement with infrastructure for communal use, schools and special interest groups.

This will be a significant new resource with far reaching impact, enabling the Adelaide Botanic Garden to deliver on its commitment to South Australians as a garden for all.

Architectural plans and development approval are completed and we are ready to build – now we need your support to make it happen. Gifts of $2,500 or more will be acknowledged on a thank you plaque either on or next to the glasshouse.

To make a gift to the Summer Appeal you can either donate online, or download and send us a Donation Form, or simply call 08 8222 9359.
