People's Choice Weekend

Every year, the National Rose Trial Garden of Australia tests out roses that are not currently available to buy in Australia.

They are grown and tended to within dedicated garden beds in the International Rose Garden at Adelaide Botanic Garden.

The trials aim to:

  1. identify and promote those roses best suited to Australian growing conditions.
  2. develop and promote Australian rose breeding.
  3. provide general information on roses to the public.

On this special People's Choice weekend, you are invited to see the roses on trial and cast your vote for your preferred rose cultivars from Australia and overseas.

The results of this event provide an excellent insight for the rose breeders/introducers, rose growers and retailers as to the type of roses that are popular with the public.

The roses currently on trial have the potential to be on sale to the public within the coming seasons.

Autumn Rose Show

On Sunday 18 April, you can also head to the Noel Lothian Hall to see The Rose Society of South Australia’s Autumn  Rose Show.

At the show you can seek information and advice from Rose Society of SA members and see beautifully displayed roses.
