We are living in an age of space exploration, yet it’s not just humans that are taking a leap. Plants will be critical to the survival of humans in space, as they have been on Earth for millions of years.
Join us for this special National Science Week edition of Science in the Pub as three of Adelaide’s leading botanical minds will share their expertise on the past, present and future of plants.
They will discuss the ancient flora of Australia, contemporary conservation challenges and the botanical opportunities associated with human space exploration.
Panellists for Botany in the Pub are:
• Professor Bob Hill (University of Adelaide)
• Associate Professor Gunnar Keppel (University of South Australia)
• Professor Michelle Waycott (Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium and University of Adelaide)
There will be raffle prizes on the night, including plants grown at Mount Lofty Botanic Garden.
Don’t miss this unique discussion of plants through time!
Botany in the Pub is hosted by the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium and Science in the Pub. Supported by Big Science Adelaide and National Science Week.
