We’re going on a Scavenger Hunt!
Back by popular demand!
Gather your family, grab a torch and join us for an exciting Scavenger Hunt under the stars, as part of the Botanic Lumina program.
It’s a special way to explore your city botanic garden, when night critters come out and mysterious noises tickle your ears.
Over the course of an hour, you will head off on an expedition through the garden with your family to reach plotted activity stations and complete fun side activities along the way.
There will be clues to find, things to collect, discoveries to be made!
Focused on the senses, you’ll meet night creatures, listen to stories and interact with our natural environment.
Who knows what you might find?
Duration: Approximately one hour to complete the hunt.
Where: Start at the Goodman Gate, Adelaide Botanic Garden (Enter via Hackney Road)
WHAT TO BRING
A torch or headlamp, sturdy walking shoes and a jacket. Your Scavenger Hunt Kit will be provided on check-in.
Ticketed parking is available in the car parks on Hackney Road, next to the National Wine Centre (entry off Hackney Road) and the Goodman Building (entry off Plane Tree Drive). These are listed as "Goodman Building Car Park" and "State Herbarium Car Park" on Google Maps. Parking is also available on Plane Tree Drive.
Toilets and change tables available in the garden.
No refreshments available – BYO Scavenger Hunt drinks and snacks.
Please bring your umbrellas, jackets and gum boots if wet weather is forecast. The event will go ahead even if wet, and will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions. We will notify you prior to the event if it is cancelled and reschedule the event. Refunds are not available for change of mind and will only apply if the event is cancelled or you are not available to attend the rescheduled event.
The majority of the hunt has wheelchair access, however patrons are advised that it takes place on a combination of sealed paths, grass and undulated surfaces.
The safety and well-being of our visitors, volunteers and staff is our highest priority.
