Adelaide Botanic Garden shrinks for new ABC TV show
03 May 2022
Adelaide Botanic Garden has been shrunk down to fun-sized flowers, teensy trees and a petite Palm House for a new ABC TV show, Tiny Oz.
Dates: Tuesday 24 May, 2022
Times: 2pm - 3pm
Location: Please meet outside the Goodman Building in Adelaide Botanic Garden, which is off Hackney Road at ref E18 on the map.
Tickets: $20 per person.
Dr Leonie Scriven, Deputy Director Collections, will take you on a leisurely walk around Adelaide Botanic Garden to explore some of the proposed initiatives in the new Adelaide Botanic Garden Masterplan.
In this History Festival event, visit the locations where the newly funded building projects are going to occur over the next twelve months and discover what is being planned.
Along the way, Leonie will also share insights into the proposals for the renewal of several plant collections and invite you to join the conversation by sharing what is special to you about the Garden.
Uncover the many exciting opportunities to be involved with the Garden and shaping its future.
The tour will take place outdoors in the Gardens, so please wear appropriate footwear (closed shoes) and dress to the weather conditions. The weather can be quite mild in the Gardens, with spontaneous light rain and wind from time to time, so we recommend bringing a suitable outdoor jacket.
Ticketed parking is available on Plane Tree Drive (off Hackney Road) and in the carpark adjacent to the Goodman Building. It is also available nearby on Rundle Road or the East End. Alternatively, catch the tram to the Botanic Garden stop which is 150m from the Main Gate.
Toilets and refreshments are available in the Garden.
The event will go ahead in wet weather and will only be cancelled in extreme weather conditions (ie. storms, hail). We will notify you prior to the event if it is cancelled and to reschedule the event. Refunds will only apply if the event is cancelled or you are not available to attend the rescheduled event.
Adelaide Botanic Garden is wheelchair accessible from all gates with bitumen paths provided throughout the Garden, however patrons are advised that some of this tour takes place on grass surfaces and natural walking tracks.
• Practice good hygiene, wash your hands regularly, and utilize the hand sanitiser available while in the Garden.
• If you have any COVID-19 symptoms on the day of your booking, stay at home and contact our staff to discuss options.
