From beloved Broadway duo Steven Sondheim and James Lapine and presented by Elephant in the Room Productions and the Botanic Gardens of South Australia as part of the Botanica Lumina program, with support from SA Power Networks.
Join your favourite fairy tale characters for a night of tears, laughter and intrigue under the stars!
A young maiden, downtrodden. A lad, poor and hungry. A little girl, unaware of the danger that follows. A couple, desperate to start a family. A witch, cursed and bitter. To find their fortunes these figures venture Into the Woods, but within these dark gardens lies more than they bargained for.
Elephant in the Room Productions is a performing arts company based in Adelaide, dedicated to producing and supporting new talent and works, and presenting ‘art with a social conscience’. Experience their thrilling new production of the beloved Broadway musical beneath a canopy of trees in the heart of your favourite garden!
As the sun goes down and the gardens transform into a stage, follow familiar figures from English folklore and the Brothers Grimm to find out what happens after Happily Ever After.
Settle in for a night that will move you as a star-studded cast of local South Australian talent take you Into The Woods.
Doors open at 6.30pm so bring a picnic and make a night of it (or pre-purchase a gourmet picnic box of delectable goodies from the Gardens Café and Kiosk), enjoy a drink or two under the evening sky, and relax on the lawns before the performance begins.
Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to experience Adelaide Botanic Garden after dark.
