The Science and Conservation program undertakes diverse activities to conserve flora and support the management of natural resources in South Australia.
Science and Conservation volunteers
We are particularly interested in volunteers who have an interest in committing to developing skills in botany and photography in lab and field settings. Much of the work requires methodical practice with an attention to detail.
We welcome volunteers with experience working in scientific and medical laboratories, or in plant nurseries and horticulture.

The Library at the Botanic Gardens of South Australia contains more than 40,000 items including books, journals, reprints, microfiche, photographs, maps, plans, letters and other archive material.

Note: A smaller number of volunteer opportunities are available in the Science and Conservation program and priority is given to volunteers with established skills or experience, or who have previously volunteered in other roles in our organisation.
