Celebrate Wittunga Botanic Gardens' 50th Anniversary!
Join us for a community picnic in the spring sunshine on Sunday, October 12, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our cherished Wittunga Botanic Garden.
Originally the private garden of naturalist Edwin Ashby, it was generously bequeathed to the state by the Ashby family in 1965 and opened to the public as a Botanic Garden in 1975.
Today, this beautiful garden features an extensive collection of water-wise plants from both Australia and South Africa, along with a lovely butterfly and bird garden, and a delightful nature-themed play area for children.
On this special day, enjoy performances by the Band of the South Australian Police, playing all your family favourites, participate in Nature Play activities for kids, enjoy a guided walk by the Friends of the Botanic Gardens and indulge in delicious treats from the Bracegirdle's bus.
Stay tuned for more details to come!
