Budding Artists

Book Excursion Here

Years 2 - 7

Budding Artists invites students to explore how nature inspires creativity across sound, colour and form.

Through sensory experiences and hands‑on creation, students reflect on how artists observe, interpret and advocate for the natural world.

Students engage in listening, observing and collecting inspiration from garden spaces before creating both individual and collaborative artworks. The session highlights how nature’s soundscapes and colour palettes are rich, changing and deeply connected to place, and encourages students to consider the important role artists play in caring for plants, animals and environments.

Students will:

  • Create artworks responding to different sensory prompts in Adelaide Botanic Garden
  • Explore the colours, sounds and forms of the natural world
  • Understand how artists are inspired by nature to create works of art
  • Collaborate in groups to design and create an ephemeral artwork using natural materials
