Access disruptions during WOMADelaide

With WOMADelaide just around the corner, we would like to make visitors aware of the various road closures and access disruptions around Adelaide Botanic Garden and Botanic Park. 
 

Monday 23 February - Thursday 12 March 
Botanic Park CLOSED to the public.

Monday 23 February - Sunday 1 March
Very limited parking will be available along Plane Tree Drive, but there will be NO PARKING from east of the zoo boundary fence through to Hackney Road.
 

Monday 2 March – Thursday 12 March 

  • Plane Tree Drive CLOSED to all vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians - this includes Frome Park, Speaker's Corner and Botanic Park.
  • Parking will only available in the State Herbarium car park (Zone 7 - next to Rose Garden), accessed off Hackney Road.
  • Vehicles will not be able to turn right into Plane Tree Drive if driving in a southerly direction - access is only if travelling northbound.


Friday 6 March - Tuesday 10 March
The first two rows of the State Herbarium car park (Zone 7 - next to Rose Garden) off Hackney Road, will be reserved for WOMADelaide accessible parking. Extremely limited parking for Garden or WOMADelaide visitors.

Pedestrians will not be able to enter WOMADelaide directly via the Botanic Garden. The Friends' Gate in Adelaide Botanic Garden will be closed, but the Conservatory Gate and Hackney Gates will be open until 6.30pm, allowing ticket holders to enter WOMADelaide via either of their two entrances.
 

Friday 13 March
Parking, cyclist and pedestrian access on Plane Tree Drive and Botanic Park (including Frome Park and Speaker's Corner) will return to normal.
 

Saturday 14 March 
Botanic Park reopens.
 

Monday 16 March - Wednesday 18 March
Plane Tree Drive will be closed from 8pm - 6am nightly.

To avoid disrupting your plans, we recommend you consider:
 

Public transport
The Botanic Gardens Tram Stop is approximately 100 metres from the Main Gate on North Terrace, and if taken from the Adelaide Train Station, is free. 

The Garden can also be accessed by various bus routes, please check Adelaide Metro website for public transport services and timetables. 
 

Parking in the city
There are carparks available in the East End. Please visit the City of Adelaide’s interactive carparking map for options available.
