Bloomin' Fabulous, presented by SAMESH, and the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium, is back for 2025 as part of Feast Festival!
Expect vibrant designs, bold botanical statements, and a celebration of queer joy in full bloom!
This dazzling fashion runway event showcases works by local and interstate makers capturing how botany and the symbolism of flowers have long been intertwined with queer histories, identities, and acts of defiance.
Developed in partnership with SAMESH, this year's Bloomin' Fabulous marks a significant milestone—50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in South Australia, the first Australian state to take this step toward equality. Our theme for 2025 is ‘Flower Power’ – inspired by the global protest movements of the 1960s and 70s, where flowers became symbols of radical love.
Join us in the Garden’s spectacular Bicentennial Conservatory for a runway show featuring fabulous botanic-inspired costumes, then mingle with the makers and models at our Living Museum after the runway.
While in the conservatory you'll also have the chance to enjoy the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, now in its sixtieth year and on loan from the Natural History Museum in London!
Ticket includes one free drink, nibbles, and goody bag. Frock up floral! Prizes awarded for ‘Best in Bicon'!
Make sure you book your ticket for what promises to be a sumptuous feast for the senses!
