A big thank you to our volunteers who have been busy sprucing up the International Rose Garden with plants donated from local and interstate nurseries.
Volunteers have been regularly helping to plant more than 500 roses that were donated by nurseries across the country. They’ve been hard at work digging holes, root pruning and planting.
The rose cultivars included Eye Shadow, a gorgeous specimen that won a Gold Medal in the 2016 National Rose Trial Garden Awards.
A special thank you to the nurseries that kindly donated the roses including Wagner’s Rose Nursery, Treloar Roses, Knight’s Roses, Swane’s Nurseries and Corporate Roses.
We would also like to thank Neutrog for providing Seamungus, Sudden Impact for Roses, Gogo Juice and Who Flung Dung.
The roses have been planted in preparation for the World Rose Convention, which will be hosted in Adelaide in 2021. The World Rose Convention is held once every three years, bringing together rose enthusiasts and experts from around the world.
If you’d like to get involved with the International Rose Garden, we’re always looking for more help. Volunteer sessions run each Friday from 7:30am – 12midday.
