The Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide are a vibrant organisation, whose members share a love of Adelaide, Mount Lofty and Wittunga Botanic Gardens. The Friends raise funds to support Garden projects and run a number of events, groups, publications and meetings. Volunteers are always welcome!

Visitor Information Centre
Assist with enquiries and provide a personal connection for those visiting Adelaide Botanic Garden by volunteering in the Visitor Information Centre. Training is held annually in October.
Garden Guides
Trained Garden Guides take visitors on guided walks through Adelaide, Mount Lofty and Wittunga Botanic Gardens. Training takes place every second year.
Museum Attendant
Bring the beautiful and historic Santos Museum of Economic Botany to life, sharing the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions with visitors.
Helping Hands
Help Wittunga Botanic Garden shine with this hands-on gardening group every Tuesday.
Botanical Art Group
Art sessions are held in Adelaide Botanic Garden’s Goodman Building on Saturday afternoons, while workshops occur throughout the year. Exhibitions are also held from time to time in North Lodge.
Botanical Photography Group
Photography sessions are held in Adelaide Botanic Garden’s Goodman Building on the first Thursday and the third Friday of each month from 10.00am - 12.00. While workshops occur throughout the year, exhibitions are also held from time to time in North Lodge.
Friends’ Tours and Activities
Friends’ Tours are organised to varied and interesting sites around Adelaide, including exceptional gardens, galleries and historic buildings.
Growing Group
This friendly, industrious group meets at Mount Lofty Botanic Garden and propagates plants for sale to the public.
