Five things to do at Adelaide Botanic Garden this autumn
09 March 2023
Autumn is one of the most beautiful seasons to visit Adelaide Botanic Garden. The colors of the leaves change, the air gets a bit crisp, and the garden is full of life.
We highly recommend you read the following documents. They will help you plan your visit and ensure the best possible experience and learning outcomes:
Class groups and supervision
A maximum of 30 students may attend Educator-Led programs. Please ensure enough adult supervision to supervise your students.
Note: Botanic Gardens Education Team may elect to cancel a booking if not enough supervision is provided.
For the best experience for all involved, we recommend the Department for Education recommended ratios for excursions:
A teacher (or responsible person in a preschool setting) must be in charge of all camps or excursions.
The minimum adult (staff, instructors and volunteers) to student ratio (excluding the teacher in charge or the responsible person in a preschool setting) is:
• 1:6 for preschool to year 2.
• 1:10 for years 3 to 7.
• 1:15 for years 8 to 12.
Some activities may have a higher ratio if:
• The activity has a prescribed ratio.
• The risk assessment or needs of the students attending indicates a higher ratio is needed.
