Public access to Adelaide Botanic Garden during WOMADelaide

Please be advised that closures will affect public access to Botanic Park, Plane Tree Drive, Botanic Drive and the bike path through Botanic Park between Monday 27 February and Saturday 18 March 2017 for the staging of WOMADelaide. The affected areas are as follows:

  • Wed 1 Mar - Fri 17 Mar: Frome Park will be CLOSED, although access to and from Adelaide Botanic Garden through the Ginkgo Gate will be possible from/to Frome Road along the path directly outside the Gate (from 7:30am to 6:30pm each day).
  • Mon 27 Feb - Sun 5 Mar: Botanic Park will be CLOSED. Plane Tree Drive will be OPEN for parking. Limited parking will be available on Botanic Drive (and NO PARKING east of the Zoo boundary fence). The bike path will be OPEN for through access only.
  • Mon 6 Mar - Wed 15 Mar: Botanic Park, Plane Tree Drive, Botanic Drive and bike path will be CLOSED for WOMADelaide. During this period it's recommended cyclists cross Hackney Road on the northern side of the River Torrens, ride along the Linear Park Path and cross to City-side on the pedestrian bridge approximately 300m west of the Hackney Road Bridge. Continue past the northern boundary of the Adelaide Zoo until you reach Frome Road. Alternatively, cyclists can walk their bicycles through Adelaide Botanic Garden.
  • Thurs 16 Mar - Sat 18 Mar: Botanic Park will be CLOSED. Plane Tree Drive will be OPEN for parking. Limited parking will be available on Botanic Drive (and NO PARKING east of the Zoo boundary fence). Bike path will be OPEN for through traffic only.

Pedestrian access to Adelaide Botanic Garden can be gained via North Terrace, Hackney Road or the Bicentennial Conservatory Gate on Plane Tree Drive. Very limited parking is available on Hackney Road.
