Want to explore Adelaide Botanic Garden from the comfort of your lounge room? Now you can, thanks to the folks at Google.
In winter 2016, Google’s Street View team brought their Trekker – a unique backpack-looking gizmo equipped with multiple camera lenses – to South Australia for the first time.
The Trekker allows the operator to capture a 360-degree view of their surroundings, and Adelaide Botanic Garden was one of several locations Google targeted in SA, along with Adelaide Zoo, Naracoorte Caves and others.
One of the major benefits of the Trekker is it makes it possible to navigate the Garden’s narrow and winding paths, which isn’t possible with Google’s Street View vehicles.
Since their visit, the team has processed the imagery through special software to stitch it together and blur the faces of visitors captured in the pictures.
And it’s now live for you to jump in and explore! Below are a few links to spots in the Garden to get you started.
